Porifera was awarded a DoD Contract to lead a team that will develop A Self Cleaning Water Desalinator for military uses in the field. Porifera is leading a multidisciplinary team as part of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s (DARPA) Materials with Novel Transport Properties (MANTRA) Program.  The team includes Palo Alto Research Corporation, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Ohio State, all of which contribute truly revolutionary new technologies.   This program will result in a smallest, lightest, most energy efficient water desalinator ever conceived.  Initial $3.3M Phase 1 award is expected to lead to a $6.2M in Phase 2.
